Premier of NUNAVUMMI MAMARIJAVUT Season 2 on APTN

January 9, 2020

The Inuit Broadcasting Corporation’s (IBC) popular series Nunavummi Mamarijavut (the food we love in Nunavut) is back for season 2 on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).  Nunavummi Mamarijavut is an Arctic culinary series (Inuk style).   Our crew has travelled to the most special places in Nunavut, outside of the communities and in people’s kitchens to meet great hunters and masters of food making. Our host, Malaya Qaunirq Chapman has followed families and outfitters, venturing out to the most beautiful places in Nunavut where Inuit have camped to learn about the history of each site and of course hunt for the best food in Nunavut.  Malaya learns skills in hunting animals, fishing, gathering seafood, berries and plants used to make delicious, organic and wholesome food made by Inuit for centuries.  “I am so excited to share with you my adventures to some of the best places on earth. From the homes and kitchens we’re welcomed in, to the land and waters that help feed and nourish us. I’ve had the privilege of meeting the best hunters out there, and I am so grateful for their time.  Join me in my journey of finding the food we love in Nunavut and tune in” said Malaya.

Nunavummi Mamarijavut is a 13-episode series in Inuktitut with English subtitles.

Nunavummi Mamarijavut premiers Monday, January 13 at 9:30 PM (ET) and repeats Friday at 9:00 AM (ET) on the APTN North feed.  The series will premier on the APTN East and HD feeds on Monday, January 20 at 6:00 AM (ET).
