Become The Next Generation of Storytellers

IBC’s new training program called Tigulavut, “To Get Ahold of,” will empower Inuit youth to share their voices and preserve their culture through storytelling. Join IBC and learn to create, film, and produce stories that shape the next generation of northern media.

Do You Have a Story to Tell?

Join IBC for Tigulavut, “To Get a Hold of,” a four-month, hands-on training program that teaches you how to film, edit, and produce stories for television and digital media. This is your chance to gain real production experience, use professional equipment, and tell your own stories in your own voice.

Learn to use professional cameras, microphones, and editing tools. Get a one-year Adobe Creative Cloud membership — use Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and more. Create your own short film or digital story to share on IBC platforms. Work with mentors and industry professionals who want to see you succeed. Build skills that can lead to employment in television, film, or digital media.

What You’ll Learn

In Tigulavut, you’ll get hands-on experience in every part of the production process:

Learn how to shoot interviews, landscapes, and stories that capture life in Nunavut and beyond.

Edit your footage using Adobe Premiere Pro and other tools used by professionals around the world.

Develop strong storytelling skills rooted in tradition

Use microphones and recorders to capture clean sound for interviews, music, and dialogue.

Create short videos, social media content, and digital stories for IBC and other online platforms.

Who Should Apply

Meet Your Mentors
