Inuit Broadcasting Corporation Launches New Website

[OTTAWA, MARCH 31, 2025] The Inuit Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) proudly announces the launch of its new website on March 31, 2025. Designed to improve accessibility and engagement, the website offers an immersive way for audiences to experience Inuit culture, language and stories straight from the community.

The building of the website was funded by Inuit communities including the Government of Nunavut: Department of Culture and Heritage, the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA), the Kivalliq Inuit Association (KIA) and the Kitikmeot Inuit Association (KitlA).

The website will feature improved navigation, video archives, access to social media platforms and mobile compatibility.

“We are overjoyed to launch our new website, which will provide a much more accessible for anyone who is trying to learn more about IBC or Inuit culture in general,” said Karen Prentice, Director of Communications and Programming at IBC.

Launched in 1981, IBC has been a vital voice for Inuit communities for four decades, producing culturally rich programming and advocating for Inuit language production and representation in media. The organization has been a pioneer in creating original Inuktitut-language programming, a cornerstone of its mission to counter the underrepresentation of Inuit stories in mainstream media. By promoting Inuit-led storytelling, IBC strengthens cultural pride, and the voices of Inuit communities are heard, now and for future generations.

The new IBC website will be available for people to use at www.inuitbroadcasting.ca on March 31 to explore Inuit stories, language and culture like never before.

Please note that the web site is currently being translated for Inuktitut speakers, and will be operational shortly.
