NUNAVUMMI MAMARIJAVUT (The Food We Love in Nunavut)

SEASON 3 IS PREMIERING ON APTN NORTH MAY 24 at 8:30 p.m. (CT)

Iqaluit, Nunavut (May 20, 2021) – The Inuit Broadcasting Corporation’s (IBC) deliciously interesting culinary
series Nunavummi Mamarijavut is returning to Aboriginal People’s Television Network (APTN) for season 3 with
13 brand-new episodes to get your mouth watering and your heart feeling full.

Nunavummi Mamarijavut (the food we love in Nunavut) is an Arctic culinary series (Inuk style). Our crew
travelled to wonderfully unique spots in Nunavut to meet great hunters and masters of food making. Our host,
Malaya Qaunirq Chapman follows families and outfitters, venturing out to the most stunning landscapes where
Inuit camp, trap and hunt to learn about the history of each site and, of course, share a meal of delicious, healthy,
and uniquely Inuit cuisine.

Malaya learns new skills in hunting animals, fishing, gathering seafood, berries and plants used to make
scrumptious, organic and wholesome food made by Inuit for centuries. “We come from a long line of strong
capable Inuit. As I learn to hunt and cook our delicious country foods from our experts, I am reminded of our
ancestors’ resilience, and I hope to continue on this journey of learning in my own personal life. Food is my most
favorite thing on earth, and so I hope you enjoy the show I truly enjoyed shooting. Qujannamiik” Malaya said.
This season Malaya travels to Arviat for some unique Inuksuit surf and turf and visits Naujaat to learn the secret
recipe for a family’s famous 7-hour baked fish. If your mouth isn’t watering yet, be sure to tune in when the
crew travels to meet a young mother in Cambridge Bay who attended culinary arts school and teaches Malaya
how to make caribou pho and sushi. Each episode will leave you hungry for more so be sure to delve in on APTN
this season.

“Our traditional dishes and the way we prepare food is being forgotten. With Nunavummi Mamarijavut, we’re
bringing back our culture with so many delicious foods that we’re proudly showcasing for the world to enjoy,”
IBC’s CEO Manitok Thompson said.

Nunavummi Mamarijavut Season 3 will premiere on APTN North on May 24th at 8:30 pm (CT) and on APTN
East and APTN HD on July 19th at 6:00 am (ET). The series will continue on APTN North on Mondays and on
